Our Values

We take seriously our responsibilities to you, the planet, and the future of our scientific community.

We bottle in small batches to ensure you get fresh products every time.  We package them responsibly for maximum potency and minimal environmental impact.  We strive to balance the highest quality ingredients with fair pricing and no animal testing.

We share your concerns about natural v. chemical formulas.  We therefore use straight-from-nature ingredients in our products as much as possible.  We carefully select powerful compounds – proven by research to be effective - and tiny amounts of preservatives from those recognized by scientists around the world to be safe and effective for skin care.

The Good Chemist hopes to raise  awareness that ‘chemical’ and ‘natural’ are not mutually exclusive. With your health in mind, here’s what you won’t find in our products - ever:

fragrances dyes pthalates parabens - methicones triclosan

(and all of the other 'dirty dozen' skincare ingredients:

We welcome your questions about skin care ingredients.  Search our Blog page for lots of ready information, or send us a note.

The Good Chemist is committed to caring for the planet as well as your skin.  We use glass bottles and jars that are recyclable –and even better, reusable.  Use your empty bottles for essential oils, travel sizes of your larger products, or, if you DIY, creations of your own.

We use pump dispensers to keep your serums fresh and potent to the last drop. Just wash carefully in hot, soapy water to reuse the pump as well as the bottle.

Our packaging is designed to be minimal and fully recyclable.  We do not wrap in cellophane or extraneous boxes – your products will come to you wrapped in tissue and placed directly in a small shipping box.  Please help us by recycling these materials after use.
