Not Everyone Needs a Moisturizer

Not Everyone Needs a Moisturizer

"Do I need a moisturizer?"

This may be the most misunderstood issue of all in skin care.  We are told that moisturizers are the most basic need in skin care - but this depends completely on your unique skin and the environment you live in.

In fact, can moisturizer cause pimples?  Yes! Breakouts, oiliness and clogged pores (blackheads, milia, etc) can occur from overuse of moisturizing products.  We have found that many skin types need only light serums with power ingredients to maintain their health and glow.  Sunscreen, however, is a must every single day.

Our philosophy is to use as few products as possible to achieve youthful, healthy skin.

If your serums or sunscreen include moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, oils or butters, you may not need a separate moisturizer at all. But if you do need some extra help, what moisturizer is best for your face?

We like Dr. Davin Lim’s take on how to choose the right moisturizer for your skin.
